The Systems Model for Family Assessment

The Family Assessment Model was originally proposed by Dr Papero as a way to think about one’s work with a client.   It describes five “dimensions”  that can be used to organize ones thinking and questioning during a client session.   It describes different aspects of functioning on continua.   It is not a “diagnostic instrument” but a useful conceptual framework that aligns with Bowen Family Systems Theory.   For more background, you may purchase Dr. Papero’s article that describes this model  “Developing a Systems Model for Family Assessment” click here.
